Guidelines for NTU Student Government and Student Group Counseling

Guidelines for NTU Student Government and Student Group Counseling

Article 1 
The Guidelines are stipulated in accordance with Article 2 of the Regulations governing NTU Student Government and Group Counseling Committee Organization.  
Article 2
All the organizations of and activities by the School’s student governments and student groups shall conform to the regulations by the Guidelines except that current national laws have stipulated otherwise. Any related affairs that are not included in the Guidelines shall be dealt with other regulations by the School.    
Article 3 
NTU student governments and student groups are categorized as the follows:
Student governments: University Student Union, College’s student unions or Department’s (or Graduate institute’s) student unions.  
Student groups: Groups that are academic-oriented, service-oriented, arts and culture-oriented, entertainment-oriented, association-oriented or integration-oriented.  
Other student governments or student groups that are certified and passed by the Student Government and Group Counseling Committee (referred to as the Committee for short) are included too.
Article 4 
The Guidelines for the organizational structure of each student government and student group shall be stipulated by each and every student government and student group. Such an organizational structure shall not become effective until it is certified by the Committee. 
Article 5 
The establishment and dissolution of any student governments and student groups as well as group activities shall be implemented according to the autonomy of the NTU students, whilst the above groups shall be certified, supervised and managed by the Committee. 
 
Article 6  
The funds of the student governments and student groups shall be produced from the annual fees by group members or other incomes (the School’s subsidies excluded). The collection and allotment of the fund shall be explicitly stipulated in the Guidelines for the organizational structures of the student governments or student groups and certified and counseled by the Office of Student Affairs.  
If the student governments or student groups receive the subsidies allotted from the annual budgets of the School, its disposal and allotment shall be implemented according to the Regulations governing the Subsidization stipulated by the Committee.  
Article 7
Student governments and student groups shall employ the teaching staff of the School as a mentor after reporting to the Principal. Yet the mentors to College’s student unions or Department’s student unions shall be acted on by the deans, directors and directors of each college, department or graduate institute.  
Student groups may hire the school faculty and staff or arts craftsmen to mentor their activity after reporting such employment to the Committee. 
A mentor to any student governments and student groups is a position without remuneration; yet the arts craftsmen outside the campus can be reimbursed according to the actual condition. 
If a mentor to any student governments and student groups cannot perform his or her duty for any reason, the position shall be temporarily occupied by the mentor’s appointed deputy person. If the mentor cannot resume his or her position after 3 months, a new mentor shall be hired. 
Article 8
The set of Guidelines will be enforced after being passed by the Student Counseling Committee; the same procedures shall be undergone for future’s revisions.
